More Information About Mops, Buckets And Handles

The Four Main Types of Mop System

Standard Mop

The exel mop head is your run of the mill round mop head, they are very cheap to buy and offer cost effective cleaning performance. There are a few types of Exel Mop Head including the standard PY type and Revolution mop heads.

These round mop heads work best with an Exel Mop Bucket.

Kentucky Mop

Kentucky Mops are bigger in size and attach to the handle with a hooked latch. They hold more water and are generally larger in size allowing you to clean a larger area faster.

The Kentucky mop head should be used with a Kentucky mop bucket, these buckets have a lever and press to drain the mop of dirty water. Some buckets even have two water compartments on them to ensure that clean and dirty water is kept separate.

Flat Mops

Flat mops are a relatively new item on the market and are ideal for flooring such as laminates and smooth painted floors. They use large flat pads to clean floors, the pads are generally used damp instead of wet. The cleaning pads are then washed at the end of each session instead of repeated rinsing during the cleaning process.

Dry Sweeper Mop

These are great for village halls and school corridors, when all that is needed is a dry clean to remove dust rather  than a wet clean to remove marks. They come in various sizes, with the largest variation being a V-sweeper allowing huge areas to be covered very quickly.
